- Everyone needs to know where you stand in support of them. Basically, they need to know you’ve got their back.
- Be clear in your communication. If you are not sure on this one, look at how your team is executing their goals/milestones – if they keep missing the mark, then look for ways to be more clear & encouraging.
- Be consistent with your actions. If you say you will have a team meeting at 10 am every Tuesday, then it should be considered sacred and not get bumped for other non-emergencies.
- Align your actions with your words. In other words, if you say you are going to do something, do it!
- Talk about areas of dissatisfaction if there is something that has been bothering you. Or, if you notice someone “appears” bothered, address it to gain greater understanding. “Help me to understand…” can go a long way towards building solid relationships.
